Answers to the most important questions from parents, players, and clubs about BBEA 2026/27.

Academy model

Is BBEA a new club?

No. BBEA is planned as an additional development environment. Players continue to stay with their home clubs and play their regular season there.

Do players have to change clubs?

No. That is specifically not the goal. BBEA should complement development and help players bring stronger habits and experience back to their clubs.

Which age group is BBEA for?

BBEA 2026/27 is for boys born in 2013, U14 in the 2026/27 season.

How many players will be accepted?

The target group size is around 12 players. Spots are limited to keep training quality high.

Training

How often does BBEA train?

One additional training per week is planned.

Is training mandatory?

Attendance is optional. However, academy players are strongly encouraged to attend at least two BBEA trainings per month.

When will training take place?

The exact weekday will be confirmed. Training will not be on Mondays.

Where will training take place?

The exact location will be confirmed. Neukölln or Friedrichshain is currently planned.

Will training conflict with Landesauswahl dates?

The schedule should be planned to avoid conflicts with relevant Landesauswahl Kader 2013 dates where possible.

Does weekly training cost extra?

Weekly BBEA training is currently planned to be free of charge. This is a personal contribution from the organization into the development of the players. The goal is to keep this model in place as long as possible. Future adjustments may become necessary depending on costs and academy development.

CEYBL and 3x3

Will BBEA play in CEYBL?

Yes. BBEA will compete in CEYBL Boys U14 during the 2026/27 season.

Is 3x3 part of the program?

Yes. 3x3 is an important part of BBEA development. The goal is for every player to play at least two official FIBA 3x3 tournaments per year.

Are 3x3 tournaments included in the CEYBL price?

No, not automatically. 3x3 tournaments, trips, and additional events may be organized and charged separately.

Will there also be friendly games?

Yes, additional games and tournaments against strong teams are part of the sporting idea. They will be planned depending on calendar and organization.

Costs

What does the CEYBL package cost?

The CEYBL 2026/27 package costs 990€.

What does the team gear cost?

The official BBEA team gear costs 85€.

What is included in the gear package?

One dark jersey set, one light/white jersey set, and one training T-shirt. The gear is personalized with BBEA branding, player name, and number, and remains the property of the player.

What is the total amount?

The total amount for CEYBL package and team gear is 1,075€.

Is there a monthly payment option?

Yes. A payment option of 135€ per month over 8 months is planned. Due to the rounded monthly rate, this totals 1,080€.

Application

How can a player apply?

The entry point is an application for two free trial trainings.

Are the trial trainings really free?

Yes. The two trial trainings are free of charge.

What happens after the application?

BBEA contacts you with possible dates. The player attends two free trainings. Afterwards, there is feedback and a shared decision about the next step.

What kind of players is BBEA looking for?

BBEA is looking for ambitious, coachable players born in 2013 who already play club basketball, are reliable, and want to develop in a strong group.
